FINA Points is a point system based on the average of the top 10 all-time best performances since the last Olympics. This average time from the top 10 all-time performances is assigned 1000 points. HY-TEK has built in these base times for Long Course Meters and Short Course Meters as of the finish of the 2004 Olympics. However, in 2008, the FINA Bureau decided that the FINA Points Table will be updated annually, respecting the following deadlines: Long Course (50m-pool) times updated on the 1st of January each year and the Short Course (25m-pool) times updated on the 1st of July each year. HY-TEK will update these base times when they are available which will cause the points to change. As of this writing, the base times for Short Course Meters reflect 2008 times and the base times for Long Course Meters reflect 2004 times.
To enable FINA Points, click Set-up from the Main Menu Bar and then Entry/Scoring Preferences. Then click on the Scoring Awards tab and select the Special Point System combo box.
